VACANCIES:

Part time Receptionists x 2

Contract: Permanent:

   Post 1 : 9.5 hours per week, plus 3.5 hours every third Sunday.
   Post 2 : 12 hours per week

Salary: £7.50 per hour

North London YMCA is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced receptionist for the Harringey Club, based in Crouch End, London. The receptionist will ensure the highest level of customer service to users of the Harringay Club. The Reception staff will also be expected to assist in the smooth and efficient running of the club, and deliver an excellent administration service to customers and staff, whilst promoting a tolerant and caring environment.

We are seeking to fill two posts, covering the following hours:

Post 1: Post 2:
Monday 17:00-22:00 Wednesday 17:00-20:00
Tuesday 17:00-21:30 Thursday 18:00–20:00
Every third Sunday 09:45–13:15 Friday 17:00-20:00


If you have strong administration and reception skills and are educated to at least GCSE Level in English or Maths, with a passion for delivering excellent customer service, we would love to hear from you.

Gym Advisor/Instructor (Part time), North London YMCA

Location: North London (Crouch End, N8)

Contract: Permanent, Part-time, 14 hours per week

Salary: £7.50 per hour

North London YMCA is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Gym Advisor for their Fitness Centre, based in Crouch End, London. Our Gym Advisors have a high degree of contact with clients, and will need to be able to advise on the safe and effective use of exercise equipment, and have experience of providing support, advice and developing individually-tailored programmes to service users. Through excellent interpersonal skills, you will need to motivate and inspire our clients to achieve their goals and aspirations regarding health and fitness.

As well as direct client contact, the role is also required to supervise the safe usage of the equipment, and to carry out fitness assessments, consultation and inductions with new client members. This role will also provide opportunities for personal training at no cost to you.

To join us at this extremely exciting time for the organisation, the successful candidate will need the right blend of personal skills, knowledge and experience of diet, healthy living and exercise, and will work with the Fitness Centre Manager to promote the classes and facilities available at the Centre.

If you are educated to at least NVQ Level II (or equivalent) or higher in a nationally recognised fitness-related discipline and hold a valid CPR Certificate, we would love to hear from you.

Executive Assistant

North London YMCA is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Executive Assistant to provide a responsible and supportive service to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees. This position provides an opportunity for a person with the right blend of administration, organisation and interpersonal skills to join us at this extremely exciting time for the organisation.

The Executive Assistant will join the Senior Management Team to cover a period of Maternity Leave. Together with the Chief Executive, they will be an ambassador for the organisation and will often be the first point of contact for visitors. They will be providing a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative support to the CEO and Senior Management Team, communicating information to, and on behalf of, the Board to service users, employees and other interested parties. The role also encompasses a requirement to provide HR admin support to the CEO and our outsourced HR consultants

With experience of supporting a Chief Executive and Trustee Board in meeting an organisation’s aims and objectives, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the provision of a high-performance culture that emphasises empowerment, quality, productivity and standards. A background in social housing and the third sector will be a distinct advantage, as will experience of working within a diverse organisation.

After Hours Club Leader

Location: North London YMCA Fitness Centre (Crouch End, N8)

Contract: Part time 22.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-6:30pm), Permanent

Salary: £9.50 per hour

North London YMCA is seeking to recruit a responsible and experienced Club Leader to oversee the day to day operation of After Hours and Breakfast Clubs. Deputising for the out of hours Club Manager, the Club Leader will be responsible for managing play leaders and crèche workers and leading in the creation of a varied programme of activities in order to provide a caring, secure environment for children of a wide age range, through individual attention and group activities.

In addition, the Club Leader will ensure all activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner and ensuring the setting offers the highest standard of physical and emotional care and health and safety at all times and within agreed North London YMCA policies and procedures.

This role requires a full, relevant early years and childcare qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and knowledge of safeguarding awareness. A first aid certificate and driving licence would also be beneficial.

Playworker

Contract: Part time (18.75 hours per week), Permanent

Salary: £7.50 per hour

North London YMCA is seeking to recruit a responsible and experienced Playworker to assist the Crèche Supervisor in providing a caring, secure environment for children of a wide age range, through individual attention and group activities.

The Playworker will assist in the provision of planning play opportunities, provide support the preparation of activities and programmes, undertake day to day administration duties and liaisie with parents and carers to build and maintain good relationships and communications with parents/carers. In addition, the Playworker will ensure all activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner and ensuring the setting offers the highest standard of physical and emotional care and health and safety at all times and within agreed North London YMCA policies and procedures.
