Talent Manager

We have a holistic approach to addressing young people's needs and offer integrated access to affordable accommodation, training, personal development, guidance and job search facilities. We follow an asset based approach to our work with young people. We are one of the largest providers of accommodation for this group in Haringey providing temporary housing for over 150 young people. We receive Housing Related Support funding for 55 people including 30 foyer bedspaces.

We are seeking to recruit a part time Talent Manager to join our busy supported housing team.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the attendance and retention of young people on our talent based Life Academy programmes, via thorough planning, development and delivery of learning and engagement programmes. A key focus of the role is to line manage and supervise the Talent team and sessional staff in promoting and supporting Foyer residents to take up opportunities in work, training and volunteering. Experience of effectively delivering education, training and support to young people is essential.

Communications Officer

We are seeking to recruit a part time Communications Officer to join our busy supported housing team.

The purpose of the role is to meet the internal and external communication needs of NLYMCA Housing Society by working with staff and residents to create a communication plan and to take the lead in delivering this plan. Duties will include writing communications, liaising with the website provider, developing literature. Experience of working in a communications environment including social media management is required. Candidates will be expected to have a good working knowledge of social media, drafting written communications, be accurate and have excellent Written English skills and be a good team player.

We are looking to recruit a Services Manager to join our busy supported housing team.

Reporting to the Housing Director, the post holder will have the responsibility for the overall management of NLYMCAís Accommodation and Resident Services. The purpose of the role is to ensure the effective delivery to the highest standards of Housing, Support and Training and Engagement Services in NLYMCA. Duties include developing high quality and innovative services, establishing relationships with external agencies, responsible for adult and childrenís Safeguarding, leadership and staff management. Experience in a similar Senior role working with young people in social/ supported housing setting is essential.

Helpdesk Operative

The purpose of this role is to provide a central point of contact for all planned, reactive and project facilities and maintenance work.

The Helpdesk Operator is responsible for managing their assigned workload on a daily, weekly or less frequent basis as appropriate, and is required to work on their own initiative. Typically, duties will include supporting the effective planning and organising of all maintenance tasks as reported in the Associationís Planned Preventative Maintenance procedure; monitoring spending and budgets; managing and maintaining the AMIS system in relation to facilities issues and reporting; organising call outs based on information from AMIS; updating the preferred contractors list and preparing all Permits To Work; maintaining and recording service Risk Assessments.

Candidates will be expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills, be attentive to detail and able to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Facilities Worker, 3 posts available

North London YMCA is focused on helping disadvantaged young homeless people aged 16-35 make a successful transition to independence. We are one of the largest providers of accommodation for this group in Haringey providing temporary housing for over 150 young people. We receive Housing Related Support funding for 55 people including 30 foyer bedspaces.

We are looking for 3 qualified, skilled trades people (electrician, plumbing, gas, multi-skilled) to ensure our premises and facilities are regularly maintained to a high standard, so as to ensure a comfortable shared space and in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Typical duties will include: planning and organising effectively all maintenance tasks as reported in the Associationís Planned Preventative Maintenance procedure; PAT testing of electrical equipment; fire alarm testing; liaising with suppliers for purchase of materials; replacing lights, taps, washers, plugs etc as required; carrying out other maintenance duties as considered reasonable by the Association; troubleshooting minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement; performing routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking taps, and water fountains, or performing routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures; repairing and replacing door knobs or locks, repair door closures, patching walls; painting interior and exterior walls.

Successful candidates will be expected to travel between NLYMCA sites and must have a valid UK/EU driving licence.

Candidates will be expected to have sound knowledge of health and safety matters in relation to facilities management, skills in maintenance and repair, be attentive to detail and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
