Yoga
Yoga is an excellent way to develop and maintain physical fitness and inner calm. Regular practice can help you access greater energy to live life fully. Through active awareness of our whole body in a series of postures we develop strength, flexibility, concentration and co-ordination. Yoga is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Level classes are not suitable for beginners.
- Iyengar: The Iyengar method of Yoga is initially learnt through the in-depth study of asanas (posture) and pranayama (breathe control). With over 200 classical yoga Asanas and 14 different types of Pranayamas (with variations of many of them) from the simple to the incredibly difficult.
- Ashtanga: The Ashtanga method of Yoga involves synchronizing the breath with progressive series of postures, the result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
- Sivananda: Sivananda yoga is a unique approach to classical yoga. It simplifies the yoga method making it compatible with a modern lifestyle.
- Hatha: The style as we know it today, contains the fundamental principals of Yoga and the most familiar poses. It is the perfect class for beginners and more advanced yogis, because the emphasis in a Hatha class is always about understanding the pose and working through it at your own pace to completion.
